The ISLE project “innovation in the teaching of Sustainable development in Life sciences in Europe” aims so to develop innovation regarding a transverse, crosscutting or even transdisciplinary issue. Data already exists, websites, programs can already provide information; however, a tool to mutualise, to develop and to transfer innovations in the introduction of the concept of sustainable development in the teaching of life sciences, does not yet exist.

I.S.L.E. 5th Project Meeting

The 5th I.S.L.E. Project Meeting on the theme of "Exploitation" will be held at Harper Adams University College (Newport - Shropshire, UK) from the 23rd until the 27th (or 28th, for those participating in the field trip on Friday) of April 2012.

The closest airport is Birmingham International Airport.
From the Birmingham Airport you can either take a train to Telford Train Station or arrange for a pick up service by the organizers of the meeting
From the Telford Train Station there will be a pick up service by the organizers of the meeting.

"Sustainable Practices & Innovation" Professionalization Fair

The “Sustainable Practices & Innovation” professionalization fair and seminar is one of the activities of the I.S.L.E network and aims:

1. To join the forerunners on SD in professional practice in Life Sciences from different European countries;

2. To exhibit innovative products, systems and services of European companies, governmental and non-governmental organizations aimed at enhancing SD;

3. To show the state of the art of teaching of SD in different HEIs;

4. To contribute to the dialogue clarifying the needs of the labour market on SD competences of our graduates, in the near future, in order to adjust Higher Education programmes.

I.S.L.E. 3rd Project Meeting

The 3^rd I.S.L.E project meeting on the theme of "Good practices in the teaching of sustainable development in Life Sciences"will take place at the University of Malta from 4-8 July 2011. Members from all networked institutions are expected to be there and discuss issues of the network. A special session will be devoted to the results of the Questionnaires developed so far.

I.S.L.E. 2nd Project Meeting

The 2^nd project meeting of I.S.L.E. will take place on 21-25 February 2011 at the University of Teramo, Italy. The project members will have the opportunity to meet and discuss issues concerning the progress of the project so far.
